Abu Dhabi Judiciary Approves Registration of 18 New Lawyers and Renewals for 10 Others
The Lawyers' Affairs Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has approved 28 applications for the registration of lawyers and the renewal of their enrolment, including 18 new lawyers entered in the roll of practising lawyers and 10 renewals for lawyers continuing to practise.
The decisions were taken at the committee's regular meeting, chaired by His Excellency Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, at which the committee discussed the items on its agenda aimed at raising the level of professional performance and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the legal sector.
The step forms part of the Department's efforts to supply the justice system with qualified national talent that supports the efficiency and effectiveness of legal work in the emirate.
Professional complaints
As part of its regulatory and supervisory role over the legal profession, the committee considered 3 complaints filed against lawyers, examined their grounds in light of professional duties and the rules of conduct governing practice, and took the appropriate decisions in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks and regulations.
Licences and representatives
The committee also reviewed 7 applications relating to the regulation and issuance of licences and the follow-up of professional affairs, in addition to 3 applications for the registration and renewal of enrolment of law firm representatives, to verify that they meet the prescribed conditions.
