The Future Foresight Centre at Dubai Police, with the participation of 507 international security specialists and experts from 30 countries, has prepared an advanced foresight study to shape the features of the future of policing and security work, through monitoring and analysing 36 future security challenges, in a step that reflects Dubai Police's proactive approach.

Brigadier Expert Dr Hamdan Ahmed Al Ghasia, Director of the Future Foresight Centre at Dubai Police, explained that the world is witnessing unprecedented urban expansion and rapid demographic shifts, alongside a highly complex technological revolution, which makes monitoring and anticipating future security challenges a strategic necessity, enabling the development of future scenarios that simulate both the likelihood of occurrence and the severity of impact, reinforcing proactive thinking, elevating the level of future readiness and ensuring efficiency in confronting change.

He said that, given the accelerating pace of technological development the world is witnessing, it has become essential to anticipate future security challenges through monitoring signals and external drivers, contributing to an understanding of emerging technological trends, their impact on policing operations and their role in shaping patterns of crime.

Brigadier Al Ghasia stated that the study relied on an advanced scientific methodology combining trend analysis with the extrapolation of technological, social, economic, environmental, political and security variables, alongside the involvement of specialised international expertise, which contributed to identifying future challenges grounded in evidence and data, supporting the development of security policies, the formulation of proactive initiatives and the building of more flexible, innovative and sustainable operating models.

He noted that the study comes within the series of foresight studies developed by the Future Foresight Centre at Dubai Police, stemming from its strategic role in anticipating future transformations and analysing their implications, supporting decision-making and developing future enablers, thereby enhancing the building of a proactive security ecosystem characterised by readiness, resilience and the capacity to keep pace with global changes, in order to contribute to shaping the future of policing.
