Dubai Police Seizes 17 Tankers and Arrests 18 Suspects
The General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, represented by the Environmental Crimes Section of the Anti-Economic Crimes Department, arrested 18 suspects and seized 17 tankers in various areas across the emirate during the first half of 2026, in cooperation with Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority.
Dubai Police explained that the operations came as part of its joint efforts with the relevant authorities to detect environmental violations and to combat practices that harm the environment and public health.
The suspects were apprehended after they were found to have violated the rules and legal procedures governing the disposal of harmful substances, such as sewage and petrochemical materials. The necessary legal action was taken against them, and the seized tankers were confiscated.
Dubai Police stressed that disposing of harmful substances at the sites designated for them is a responsibility that must not be breached. It emphasised that dealing with these violations relies on field coordination and information sharing with the competent authorities, ensuring they are detected quickly and the necessary action is taken.
It added that protecting the environment and public health requires workers in this sector to comply with the approved rules and not to expose the community to harm resulting from unlawful practices.
