Dubai Police Organizes Awareness Exhibitions for Anti-Drug Day

The General Command of Dubai Police organized two awareness exhibitions at Rive Mall and BurJuman Center, coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse, aiming to raise community awareness about the dangers of drugs and enhance the family's role in protecting their children, under the patronage of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Major General Eid Mohammed bin Thani, Director of the General Department of Drug Control, emphasized the importance of this global occasion in highlighting the dangers of drugs, noting that Dubai Police is working to build a strong community wall through awareness and prevention, and activating the family's supervisory and preventive role.

He explained that the exhibitions focused on equipping parents with effective tools for positive communication with their children and addressing risky behaviors, in addition to showcasing relevant legal materials, including Article 89, which allows voluntary treatment for users without legal prosecution, and Article 64 related to crimes of financing the purchase of drugs.

For his part, Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharif Al Mamari, Director of the International Protection Center, indicated that Dubai Police will organize a third awareness exhibition at Dubai Festival City Mall from June 30 to July 2, inviting community members to attend and benefit from its awareness programs.

In another context, the Positive Spirit Council and the Cultural Diversity Department of Dubai Police, in collaboration with their strategic partners, celebrated Father's Day by organizing an event at the Dulsco Sports Complex for over 800 workers, in appreciation of the father's status and the role of workers in building the community.

Fatima Bouhjeir, Chair of the Positive Spirit Council, stated that the celebration reinforces the values of giving and human appreciation, especially for workers who live far from their families and present a shining example of sacrifice.

The event included sports and cultural competitions, awareness lectures on drugs, cyber extortion, and traffic safety, in addition to an introduction to the smart services of Dubai Police.
