"JioN": 11 UAE Financial Institutions Ready to Issue National Payment Cards
The number of financial institutions that have completed their readiness to issue "Jaywan" cards, the UAE's national payment card scheme managed by Al Etihad Payments, owned by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, reached 11 institutions, with the rest of the banks, exchange houses and fintech institutions set to join the scheme in phases.
Jaywan aims to enhance the efficiency of the national payments system, develop the national financial infrastructure, provide secure, fast and easy-to-use payment solutions, and offer an advanced payment experience for individuals and businesses.
The financial institutions that have announced their readiness to issue Jaywan cards include First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, Bank of Baroda, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Emirates Islamic, Al Maryah Community Bank, Citibank, Al Ansari Exchange, and Botim Money.
Jaywan card categories include debit cards, prepaid cards, and credit cards, which will be available soon.
The cards feature fast and easy payment, the highest security standards, wide acceptance locally and internationally, contactless payment support, and the ability to be used both locally and internationally, alongside exclusive benefits and offers.
Jaywan cards allow cash withdrawals from ATMs, payment at stores, and online shopping, with the ability to pay via digital wallets in the coming period, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
The cards offer a range of benefits, including airport lounge access via Priority Pass, travel insurance, purchase protection, Jaywan Entertainer membership, Careem+ discounts, Reel Cinemas offers, and airline benefits.
Jaywan offers deals at more than 150 stores and service providers in the UAE, spanning the travel, hospitality, shopping, entertainment, health, and dining sectors.
For use outside the country, Jaywan cards enjoy broad global acceptance in more than 100 countries in phases.
The scheme relies on the latest security technologies, including EMV chip, contactless payment, PIN, and 3D Secure technology.
