The Legislative, Legal Affairs, Appeals, Proposals, and Complaints Committee in the Advisory Council of Sharjah Emirate discusseda draft law regulating the profession of expertise before the judicial authority for the year 2026, as part of its work during the third ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term, in preparation for completing the legislative procedures related to the project and studying its provisions in detail.


The discussion of the project took place during a meeting held by the committee at the council's headquarters in Sharjah City, where members reviewed various articles of the draft law and the objectives it aims to achieve, primarily the organization of the practice of judicial expertise and the establishment of a comprehensive legal framework that defines the controls for its practice, contributing to supporting the judicial system and enhancing the efficiency of specialized technical expertise.


The Role of Experts in Supporting the Judiciary

The committee focused during its discussions on the pivotal role played by experts in assisting judicial authorities by providing specialized technical opinions on matters requiring technical or professional expertise, whether based on a mandate from the competent judicial authority or by agreement of the disputing parties, thereby supporting the accuracy of technical reports and contributing to the establishment of the quality of judicial rulings and decisions.

  • Licensing the practice of the professionand the professional obligations and responsibilities of experts.
